The tradition of Holi festival is celebrated and why

 There is a mention of celebrating Holi in our religious texts. It is said that in the Sat Yuga King Hiranyakasipa was born in the demon clan. Hiranyakasipa meditated on Lord Brahma and asked for many powers and blessings. After which he started believing himself to be God. He started opposing all the Gods and Goddesses.

Reason for celebrating Holi

Born a son of King Hiranyakasipa, whose name was Prahlada. The prince grew up slowly. He was sent to Guru Ashram for education. As he became proficient in education and became an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. Returned home after education. So asked his son about education and Prahlada said that my most beloved and Lord is Vishnu. Hiranyakasyap got angry. He said that I am God only in this world. But Prahlada did not listen, he tried it again and again. But Prahlada did not agree, in the end Hiranyakasipa thought of killing Prahlada and ordered and said go Prahlad to be thrown from the mountains. The pillars were heated and pasted, the oil was heated and placed in it. But Prahlada did not die.

 Hiranyakasip's sister Holika 

Holika had a boon that did not burn in the fire. But at the time of receiving his boon, the gods said that if this boon is used incorrectly, then this power will not work. Holika told Hiranyakashyap that brother you should not worry. Because I will do Prahlada at the end. Hiranyakyapa got upset and Holika sat in the fire to kill Prahlada. Prahlada does not even have any due to his devotion to Lord Vishnu. Holika burnt to ashes. After this incident, we have been celebrating Holi from generation to generation.
